Laparoscopic inguinal hernia surgery is growing in both South Africa and Sweden. There is a need for teaching of technical aspects in the surgical societies. This event will be a laparoscopic inguinal hernia workshop with live surgery performed by South African and Swedish surgeons. The Swedish Hernia Register is up and running since 1992. A South African Hernia Register is in the implementing phase. The aim of the workshop is to continue collaboration in practical inguinal hernia surgery and to transfer experience between the registries.
