SITUATION ANALYSIS E HEALTH AND SDG 3 SEMINARS – AS PER THE SASUF PROPOSAL

Presentations, Discussions & Review of Preliminary data from the E Health Project, with specific reference to the webDHIS and HPRN.
PURPOSE, AIMS & OBJECTIVES OF SATELLITE EVENT
The overall aim of the Project is to develop a collaborative research, education and training programme among the participating institutions to investigate the Burden of diseases in the respective countries to enhance the monitoring and evaluation of the target indicators of SDG 3 & 4; and to promote internationalization.
PROGRAMME
Day 1: Thursday 2nd May 2019
This Session would include some of the following topics/ Presentations / Inputs and Small Group discussions.
SESSION I : 9 – 12:30PM
  • Introduction & Welcome to the DUT FOHS E Health, Epidemiology & Burden of Diseases in SA Thematic Research Focus Area (RFA) - Prof Sibiya
  • Overview of the E Governance in KZN /SA Dr S Thakur
  • Overview of Burden of Diseases and SDG 3 in Sweden - Prof Ostergren
  • Epidemiological Data Trends Analysis from DHIS SA & Sweden – prof Mats Malqvist, Upsala University
  • Overview of E health in SA Prof Jinabhai
SESSION II: 1:30 – 4:00PM
BREAKAWAY - SMALL GROUP DISCUSSIONS
Participants will explore each of the Objectives listed above.
